Since the death of Maddie's family, she's run from life and love and become the best bodyguard she can be. But, with God's help, she's ready to step out of her comfort zone and into a different life. When her boss asks—no begs—her to take on one last job, she finds it hard to refuse. Someone is trying to kill mega-star Johnny Rocker. It's Maddie Cotton's job to make sure that doesn't happen.

Even under Maddie's protection the threats continue. As Christmas approaches the danger escalates—someone doesn't want Johnny Rocker to see the new year, and they are willing to kill Maddie as well. Johnny and Maddie will have to set aside their differences and learn to lean on each other and God if they want to see Christmas day.

My Review
Duncan’s contribution to the 2019 Holiday Extravaganza is an inspirational tale of two people with vastly different lifestyles, but at the same place in life. Zeb Walker, aka super rock legend Johnny Rocker, is tired of being constantly “on,” and hounded by a voice he doesn’t understand. Maddie is tired of being on constant alert in her work as a bodyguard. She is retiring from the company, like now…only her boss has one more job. The paycheck is too good to pass up, and she is intrigued by the aspect of investigating a mystery along with the protection detail. She reluctantly agrees to be Johnny Rocker’s temporary bodyguard, especially since her special relationship with Jesus makes it clear Johnny needs more than physical protection.

When Maddie can’t protect Zeb anyplace where his crazed fans can find him, one of whom is obviously trying to kill him, she takes him to her secluded Colorado cabin. As they get to know each other, they become more open to the promptings of the Voice Maddie knows and Zeb longs for. The threats against Johnny’s life escalate until Maddie, too, is drawn into danger.

The story is an exciting and entertaining read with loveable characters at a crossroads. I enjoyed their personalities as both Zeb and Maddie got a kick out of pushing each other’s buttons. Told with enough danger through a light touch to keep the reader turning pages, and through both Zeb and Maddie’s perspectives, readers who enjoy inspirational romantic suspense in short form will find much to love in All I Want for Christmas is Johnny Rocker Dead.

Murder, Mayhem & Christmas?

Murder, Mayhem & Christmas? Really?
On the surface, it may seem that murder and mayhem doesn’t necessarily go with Christmas, but I love weaving a Christmas story in with suspense and romance. I have several Christmas stories available—The Christmas Stalking; The Christmas Angel Thief; No Home for the Holidays; and A Christmas Stolen.

My new Christmas novella is ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS JOHNNY ROCKER DEAD! How’s that for a title filled with murder, mayhem, & Christmas?

I won’t tell you the plot but I will tell you the story is about how much God loves each of us—no matter what we’ve done. And isn’t that what Christmas is really all about?

Speaking of Christmas, one of the things my husband and I do every Christmas is to clear out our enclosed porch and then we put up Christmas trees. Yes, I said trees as in many trees.

Last year, we had 15 trees up. In all sizes and shapes— even a snowman tree. We don’t have any young children or grandchildren around, but that doesn’t stop us from celebrating the season and honoring Jesus’s birthday.
Merry Christmas to all!

About the book
Sometimes life is full of strikes; and sometimes all we get is a split—no matter how well we throw the ball.

After seventeen year-old Macy Minton’s parents died, she’s had only one goal—to keep her family together. Along with the family bowling center, she inherited the responsibility of caring for her two younger siblings. Now, seven years later, everything is falling apart, especially her family. Macy thinks life can’t get any worse, but she’s wrong.

As she struggles to keep the bowling alley from closing forever, one tragedy after another threatens to split her family permanently. Convinced someone is intent on destroying her family, she’s determined to stop them.

But first she has to find out who is responsible

My review
Duncan’s story of ordinary people trying to make life work after tragedy takes a horrifying turn when one deranged person’s delusions take a lethal turn.

There are plenty of innocuous suspects in this murder mystery. Macy has been too busy taking caring of her younger brother, now about to graduate from high school, and her younger teen sister and providing for them by running the family business to worry about a personal life for herself. With the exception of one attempt to follow her dream as a professional bowler which she considered a failure, she’s had no time for dating, church, or even spending enough time listening to what her siblings look forward to in life. Since she never took the to attend college, her blind determination to provide her brother with an advanced dedication suddenly pokes back at her when she learns of his real desire. Family secrets further threaten to erode Macy’s carefully orchestrated perfect family when deadly accidents begin to affect them one by one.

Read along as Duncan creates a page turning mystery full of opportunity, means, and motives galore.

Lillian Duncan I LOVE CHRISTMAS 12 days giveaway

It's Holiday Extravaganza Week
Welcome Lillian Duncan!

*******

I Love Christmas!
I love Christmas!
At my house, we clear off the enclosed porch and put up Christmas trees and other decorations. We’ve had as many as 14, but never fewer than 8 or 9. It’s a lot of work but it’s also a lot of fun.
I love Christmas!
Which is probably why I have published several Christmas novels. It’s so much fun to come up with a plot that involves romance, suspense, and Christmas along with a Christmas message. This year, I got really inspired and actually have two new Christmas stories available—A Rock & Roll Christmas and A Christmas Stolen.
A Rock & Roll Christmas features a rock & roll star, of course. Someone wants megastar, Johnny Rocker, dead. It’s Maddie Cotton’s job to make sure that doesn’t happen. Even under Maddie’s protection the threats continue. As Christmas approaches the danger escalates. This was a really fun story to write.

On a more serious note, A Christmas Stolen is about a newborn baby that’s abducted and the search to find the baby. But don’t worry too much—I believe in happy endings, especially at Christmas!

A Christmas Stolen
Christmas is the best time of the year until evil comes knocking.

Danica Jordan's is looking forward to her first Christmas with her newborn niece, but when she arrives home, she finds an open door and an empty crib. Searching the house, she discovers her sister asleep in her room. Panic sets in when the two sisters realize Baby Angelica’s been abducted.

With the baby abducted, Christmas stolen, and an investigation in full swing, Danica comes face to face with the two men who ruined her life.

This Christmas could be ruined, or Danica could realize that Christmas isn’t a thing but a symbol of God’s love that can never be stolen—no matter the circumstances.

Review by Lisa Lickel:
Lilian Duncan’s contemporary Christmas romance showcases the best and worst of people. Forgiveness has been long withheld between Danica Jordan and her high school love, Connor McDonald. When Danica returns to her Ohio hometown years after a graduation night fiasco, she finds life has gone on without her, and shockingly for the very-much better. She’s come home reluctantly from Florida to meet her miracle niece, only to find her sister Leah and darling Angelica have been victimized.

Worse yet, in her nightmare reality, all the bad guys from high school have turned into super knights in shining armor—bearing the armor of God. And she thought she’d left all that behind her.

On a personal hunt to help her sister, Danica realizes she’s not the only one who’s been fleeing from her past. While she’s run physically across the county, Connor has stayed to work out his own demons. When the two of them unite to help Leah and her family, old sparks are reignited…but for the best? Or worst?

Bad guys, babies, and Santas make this Christmas the most memorable miraculous Christmas ever for the Jordan sisters. Readers of bite-size inspirational holiday romance will adore this tale of true love, faithfully changed lives, and forgiveness.
