Prism's Birthday Blog Hop

PrismBirthday_sized

I am so happy to be celebrating this birthday!

Paula Mowery, Kathy Rouser, Teena Stewart, and yours truly, joined the Prism family when our forthcoming book, Brave New Century, was contracted. The book releases in November, and we're very excited about the project, and our delightful cover.

Because this book is not yet available, I'm giving away an electronic copy of another of my books, Healing Grace, to the tenth person to comment here today about his or her favorite birthday memory.

Please enjoy the following cookie recipe, and don't foget to sign up for the bigger Prism prize, and visit the other bloggers for more chances at the big drawing!

White Chocolate Chunk Cranberry Nut Cookies

sift: 3 1/4 cup flour (can make a blend of whole wheat flour and oatmeal and white flour if desired), 1 tsp. baking soda and 1/2 tsp. baking powder
set aside

cream: 1 cup margarine, 3/4 cup brown sugar and 3/4 cup white sugar, 1 tsp vanilla
stir in: 2 eggs, beaten

fold in dry ingredients and beat; stir in 1 cup craisins, 3/4 cup white chocolate chunks, 1 cup chopped nuts - walnuts or pecans or your choice

drop by spoonful on baking sheet and bake at 350 for 10-12 minutes, just browned. They will puff and fall - remove from sheet and cool

makes 3-4 dozen, depending on size

Enjoy!

  1. Yay for you, friend! And white chocolate cranberry cookies are my FAVE! You're just making loads of brownie points...wait...COOKIE points with me today! Favorite birthday memory: I have lots, but probably the sweetest one was when my oldest daughter (then 11) baked her first cake. A birthday cake for me. A beautiful, lopsided, cake, with "Hot Rod Mom" written in royal blue icing that was squeezed out of the tube with no icing tip. It was wonderful!

    1. Thanks, Elaine! And very much looking forward to Fields of the Fatherless! Your new book. Yes, it's been a very strange year. I have another book coming out in January, too, that I'm excited about, besides the children's books with the fabulous Brenda Hendricks.

  4. Happy bday to the Prism Group. The cookies look good, except for the nuts. Going to make them, but minus the nuts. Thanks for sharing the recipe. What a fun hop and thanks to Prims Group for sending me your way. Your book with the co-authors looks good and going to be checking out. I love to read and always looking for new authors and this looks like my type of read. Love historical.
My favorite bday memory would have to be my Sweet 16th bday party. My parents had rented a small room in the bottom on a bank and had lots of my family there. Got some great presents, had some music, and danced & hung out with my family.
Thanks for the chance to win. I know I not the 10th person, but the other prize is awesome. Also thanks for the recipe.

  6. Love the cover, really eye catching.
Favorite birthday memory, the year I graduated from high school, my birthday fell on that day, my parents got me my first car.
Thanks for the recipe, I am always looking for cookie recipes I can bake for my husband to take in his lunchbox.

    1. Thank you, Jean! My birthday is in the fall, at the start of school. Fun to think back. Let me know how the cookies turn out. There's some flexibility in the recipe.

    1. Enjoy! I'm not always in favor of calling white chocolate "chocolate" but it works really well with the craisins in this recipe.

  9. Recipe sounds wonderful. But you're right - only dark chocolate is really chocolate in my book. Happy Birthday.

  10. The coming book sounds interesting. Good cover. Birthday memories? Hmmm. A few years ago, I gave myself a surprise birthday party. That was fun.
